100+ Student walkouts to #stopsexualviolence

On October 8th, we organized students from over 100 high schools and colleges to walk out of class to #StopSexualViolence.

The feminist student movement is alive and rising. We demand justice for Cornell’s Jane Doe, LSU’s Kendall Francis, and all survivors across our campuses and communities. From the frat house to the White House, we demand an end to sexual and gender-based violence everywhere.

This historic student mobilization was part of the October 8th #StopSexualViolence National Day of Action co-anchored by Feminist Generation, Women’s March, me too. International, and FEMINIST. From Texas Woman's University, to Columbia University, to Florida A&M, to UCLA, and beyond, our actions to stop sexual violence made national headlings, including in Democracy Now, USA Today, and Washington Post.

But October 8th was just the beginning. Young people won’t stop organizing until our campuses, and our world, are free of sexual and gender-based violence. That’s why we’re building an intersectional, cross-campus movement to demand our institutions protect survivors, invest in sexual violence prevention, fully fund students services, and dismantle rape culture.

We need all of us in the fight to end sexual and gender-based violence. From the frat house to the White house, we say no more. From ICE detention to Palestine, sexual violence is never acceptable.

Let’s get organized to build the future free of violence we deserve.
