Feminism Now Convention
July 25th & 26th I WASHINGTON D.C.
“Feminism...is a commitment to eradicating the ideology of domination that permeates Western culture on various levels—sex, race and class, to name a few—and a commitment to reorganizing society so that the self-development of people can take precedence over imperialism, expansion and material desires.”
- bell hooks
Feminist Generation presents:
Build Community.
Get Organized.
Demand Feminism Now.
As young people, we are rising up!
Our country is under siege from the MAGA movement. To counter hate, oppression, and state violence we need bold, visionary, and strategic feminist organizing that is rooted in love and real action. We need a feminism that fights for us all. A feminism that inspires. A feminism that is rooted in our communities. A feminism that wins.
We are at a crossroads. We all must choose to fight for generations to come, now. Reproductive and gender-affirming care is becoming increasingly criminalized. The imperial war machine is kidnapping our neighbors at home and bombing communities abroad. Our voting rights are being gutted and our education is simultaneously getting more expensive while being defunded, censored, and stripped away of its value. Long fought rights are being attacked. Femicide, police violence, repression, and surveillance are on the rise. BIPOC folks, LGBTQ+ folks, women, immigrant folks, disabled folks, poor communities, rural communities, and so many more are under attack.
The only way out is through, together. As young people, we can collectively make sense of this moment and lead the transformative change our communities need. That is why we, as Feminist Generation, are convening the Feminism Now Convention. We’re bringing youth organizers from across the country for a weekend of action–political education, skill sharing, direct action, and collective strategizing to build the future of feminism, together!
Whether you have little or lots of experience in movement work, all are welcome into this space. Join us as we move deeper into the political alignment needed to launch bold campaigns that WIN gender justice victories for our communities and combat white supremacist cisheteropatriarchy in all its forms.
Together we are unstoppable. Together, we win.
Feminism Now Programming
Convention Day 1: Saturday, July 25
Strengthen & Strategize: An internal gathering for Feminist Generation members to nurture relationships, sharpen analysis, engage in skill sharing, and collectively map movement goals. A detailed schedule of Day One will be shared with members who register.
Panel #2: Abolition Feminism and Survivor Justice
We must believe and protect survivors. Especially when our institutions have failed to. Instead, our institutions have protected abusers, buried the truth, and asked survivors to prove their pain. To that we say SHAME. More must be done. But what does justice look like in a carceral society? As feminists we say no more gendered violence, police violence, prisons and pain.
This panel brings together abolition feminists who are challenging the myth that prisons, police, and silence keep women and gender-expansive people safe — and building alternatives rooted in healing, accountability, and community care instead. They will share their organizing strategies for combatting institutional violence and building a feminist movement that centers the most marginalized to create a world where safety is defined not by punishment but by the dignity and liberation for all survivors.
Convention Day 2: Sunday, July 26
Connect & Build: A public day of political education panels and community building activations that empower the next generation of feminist organizers.
Panel #1: Immigrant Justice and Anti-Militarism Resistance
From Minneapolis to Palestine, we have witnessed the imperialist war machine at work and in response, communities around the world have found innovative ways to fight back and protect their loved ones.
Join this panel to hear from organizers and academics who understand that empire is a gendered and racialized project – one that exploits women's bodies, criminalizes queer and trans immigrants, destabilizes families, and strips entire peoples of their autonomy, especially BIPOC folks and communities in the Global South. In the face of such violence, learn the many ways transnational feminist resistance is blossoming across borders, from the resurgence of community patrols to the building of mutual aid networks.
These transformative acts remind us of our refusal to separate immigrant justice from the broader struggle for gender liberation, bodily autonomy, and a world free from militarism and state violence in all its forms.

About Feminist Generation
Feminist Generation is a membership-based organization uniting young people across the country to build intersectional gender justice. Our organization builds power and shifts culture, material conditions, and public policy through base-building, direct action, political education, training programs, artivism, and mutual aid.
Feminist Generation organizes from the ground up at the local, state, and national levels, disrupting oppressive systems and demanding a world where gender justice isn't just promised, but practiced. Our membership is free and open to 13-35 year olds of all identities.
For the Feminism Now Convention, we are returning to the place where our organization’s story begins: Washington D.C.! In 2024, The Feminist Front and Young Feminist Party joined forces by bringing together young people from all over the country to demand Former President Biden publish the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) in his final days in office.
Furthering the rich legacy left by our gender justice elders, we coordinated dozens of die-ins, walk-outs, and shut-downs. We hosted teach-ins and trainings that educated thousands about the ERA and how to fight for it. We got arrested shutting down Constitution Avenue and picketed outside the White House in a historic snowstorm for ten days. We reached millions through social media campaigns and coverage in several national outlets. By the end, President Biden declared the Equal Rights Amendment the law of the land. This victory would not have been possible without the visionary coalition-building by and among young feminists.
Energized by this collaboration, we held a democratic vote of our membership and the Young Feminist Party and The Feminist Front formally merged into Feminist Generation. Today, we continue to build the young people-led feminist movement we need to beat the MAGA agenda and protect women, LGBTQ+ people, and communities of color.
Community guidelines
The Feminism Now Convention is a feminist space built on love, solidarity, and collective power. We are bringing together young feminists from across the country with different identities, experiences, and organizing backgrounds to build the future of feminism for our generation. It’s our priority to make sure every feminist who joins us feels safe and empowered.
We believe that fighting for feminism starts with practicing it with each other and in how we build community together. To facilitate that, these are the community agreements all participants, including attendees, panelists, facilitators, volunteers, partners, and staff, are expected to follow.
Our Commitments to Each Other
Show up as an organizer. We are here to build the future of feminism together. Take the role and responsibility seriously. Be present and be engaged.
Uphold intersectional feminist values. We are here to fight white supremacist cisheteropatrairchy in all its forms. Be accountable to how systems of race, class, gender, sexuality, ability, immigration status, and more shape our experiences and our organizing.
Center impacted people. Honor and center the leadership and voices of those most impacted by the systems we are fighting, including BIPOC folks, queer and trans folks, immigrants, disabled folks, poor and working-class communities.
Practice accountability. We are here to learn and grow together as feminists. Learning and mistakes will happen. When harm occurs, we respond with humility and a commitment to repair and growth.
Foster an empowering and healthy environment. We are stronger together. We treat all participants with dignity, care, and respect. We empower ourselves and others to take space and make space so all can participate and lead. We raise concerns with Feminist Generation staff rather than letting them fester.
Take care of yourself to take care of the movement. We need to care for ourselves and be sustainable in our organizing. Step outside if you need air. Take care of your needs. Check in on your comrades.
