Feminist Art Lab

“The role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.” -Toni Cade Bambara

Our Feminist Art Lab uplifts, trains, and empowers young artists, especially young artists of color to build both their personal futures and the future of the world we dream of. In our Feminist Art Lab, young artists are paired with professional artists of color to learn, grow, and create, receiving invaluable direct mentorship and opportunities to build a body of work, skills in the arts and organizing, and have community with other young artists.

Together throughout the weeks, they build community and produce beautiful art focused on feminism, abolition, bodily autonomy, and justice.

Our generation knows the future. We are painting it. We are dreaming it. And if we can envision it, we can make it.

Art is a vital part of change for our communities.

🎨 Make change, make art. 🎨

ARt for Justice, Equality & Liberation

Feminist Art Lab is a transformative program by Feminist Generation that empowers young artists by connecting them with feminist art professionals of color—mentors who not only guide their creative growth but also inspire them to see art as a tool for social change. Participants receive a stipend, along with professional headshots to help launch their artistic journeys. Additionally, in a nurturing, justice-centered space, participants learn to write powerful Artist Statements and Biographies that reflect their identities, stories, and visions for a more equitable world. Surrounded by peers, they create original art that speaks to their truths and experiences. The journey culminates in a in-person art showcase, an opportunity to raise their voices, be seen, and take up space in a world that need young people to shape our future.
