F the Cuts

TAKE ACTION NOW: TELL CONGRESS, NO CUTS!

On May 22, the House of Representatives passed a Congressional spending bill with the most severe budget cuts to social programs for women, queer people, and low-income Americans in history. The so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” (OBBA) would defund Planned Parenthood, cut funding for gender-affirming care, and cut hundreds of billions of dollars in Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP benefits.

At the same time, the bill expand ICE operations, increase funding for Customs and Border Protection, and balloon weapons manufacturing, all while cutting taxes for the wealthiest people and corporation, increasing the federal deficit and slowing down GDP growth. This is the greatest transfer of wealth from low and middle income folks to the wealthiest people in American history.

In the cover of darkness in the late night hours the Senate advanced the bill and on Tuesday July 1st the Senate passed a modified version of OBBA with their own massive cuts to healthcare. Now the bill will go back to the House of Representatives where cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and reproductive and gender-affirming care will be finalized. Fill out this form RIGHT NOW to email your Representatives to reject cuts to critical social infrastructure for women, queer, trans, and poor folks.

Feminists SAY: F the Cuts!

Right now, the Republican-controlled Congress is passing the budget for the upcoming year. Republicans are determined to CUT FUNDING for healthcare, social programs, and essential services for women, queer, and poor folks while INCREASING FUNDING for war and attacks on immigrants. The proposed budget also increases the national debt and slows GDP growth. As feminists, we say F THE CUTS.

That’s why Feminist Generation is launching the F THE CUTS campaign. We are organizing a feminist response to the congressional budget to oppose the increase in funding for war and violence against immigrants at the expense of life-saving programs for women, queer, and poor and working people.

The F THE CUTS campaign has three core demands. ⤵️

#1: F THE CUTS to Reproductive Healthcare and Gender-Affirming Care

#2: F THE CUTS to Social Programs for Women, Queer, and Poor Folks

#3: F THE NEW $240+ BILLION to Fund War and Anti-Immigrant Attacks

Congress will pass a budget regardless. It is up to us to raise hell for our communities and reject budget cuts that harm women and queer people. We need feminists across the country to rise up with us and tell their Members of Congress, both Republicans and Democrats, that we say F THE CUTS.
